The era of mini phones led by Apple has come to an end: small-screen flagships are no longer called mini

Blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that all manufacturers think that mini does not sound good, and that the small-screen phone will no longer be named mini by the end of the year. Instead, it will be positioned as a standard version, and on this basis, the Pro small-screen, Pro Max (Plus) large-screen, Ultra large-screen and other models will be derived.   

The first batch of small-screen flagships named as standard version will be officially unveiled in October, and are expected to include Xiaomi 16, OPPO Find X9, vivo X300 and so on.

Data shows that since the launch of the iPhone 12 mini in 2020, Apple has led the mini mobile phone market, and the small-screen flagship has become a hot topic.

In this wave of small-screen flagship craze, Apple unexpectedly fell behind because the sales of mini were lower than expected. After successively launching the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini, Apple gave up the small-screen mobile phone market and replaced it with the Plus large-screen mobile phone.

In contrast, Xiaomi has focused on the small-screen flagship market since the Xiaomi 12 series, and has now become one of the biggest winners in this wave of flagships. Taking Xiaomi 15 as an example, in less than a month, the sales of the Xiaomi 15 series exceeded one million units, and the speed of breaking one million was faster than the previous generation Xiaomi 14 series.
