Samsung Galaxy WideFold initial batch of 1 million units: to be released in three months.

According to Fast Technology on April 26, blogger iIce Universe revealed that the lightest and thinnest wide folding phone will be the Galaxy Wide Fold, which will be released in three months, with an initial stock of 1 million units.

He added in the comments section that the phone will weigh no more than 220 grams and will feature a dual-camera setup.

There are also reports that the phone is 9.8mm thick when folded and only 4.9mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, making it the world’s lightest and widest foldable phone.

This device is Samsung’s first wide foldable product. Its core highlight is a 7.6-inch inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio (close to the display effect of an iPad), paired with a 5.4-inch outer screen, completely breaking away from the traditional narrow and long shape of foldable screens, and significantly improving the experience of document reading and multitasking.

It adopts a new generation of teardrop hinges, which have excellent crease control and extremely long opening and closing life.

With core configurations on par with flagship models, it features a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.

It features a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and supports 45W wired and 25W wireless fast charging.

Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone, to be released in September, will also have a similar aspect ratio. Combined with Huawei’s Pura X series, the three major manufacturers will engage in fierce competition in the wide foldable screen market.
