Samsung Pushes December 2025 Security Patch to Galaxy Tab S9 FE
After completing the rollout of the December 2025 security update for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, Samsung has now started releasing the same update for the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup. Under normal circumstances, Samsung delivers security updates to the Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra models first and then rolls them out to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. However, this time Samsung has surprised users by pushing the update to the Galaxy Tab S9 FE before the other models.
Samsung has currently started distributing the update in South Korea, which is the company’s home country. The update comes with firmware version X510XXS9DYK1 and has a file size of 331.30MB (as reported by @ya_sking12767). Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to more regions over the next few days. The December 2025 security update fixes 57 known security issues. Additional information is available here.

To download the update, open the Settings app on your device and go to Software update then tap Download and install. The firmware will be available in our database soon for users who prefer to install it manually. Once available, you can download it and use Samsung’s Odin flashing tool on a Windows computer to install the update manually.
Samsung is actively working on One UI 8.5 the next version of its custom interface for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE is confirmed to be eligible for this upcoming software version. However, Samsung has not yet shared any details about the release timeline. In the meantime, you can watch a video to learn more about the features included in One UI 8.5.
