Samsung’s first wide foldable Android phone has arrived: directly competing with Huawei’s Pura X Max.

Fast Technology reported that blogger iIce Universe showed off a custom tempered glass screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide. This is the first flagship phone with a wide foldable form factor launched by the Android camp, which directly breaks away from the conventional design ideas of previous foldable screen products.

Compared to the previously released Huawei Pura X Max, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide has a more elongated external screen ratio. Its internal screen size is 7.6 inches, and the external screen size reaches 5.4 inches . When the device is unfolded, the thickness on one side is only 4.5 mm, making it very thin and light to hold.

In terms of core hardware configuration, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide is equipped with Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra flagship platform. The rear camera module features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, but no telephoto lens. The device has a built-in 5000mAh battery.

Unlike traditional foldable screens with conventional aspect ratios, the wide foldable screen has a very special aspect ratio design.
