The iPhone Fold will become the most significant redesign in Apple’s history.

Its importance is considered to surpass that of the iPhone 4 and the iPhone X that ushered in the era of full-screen displays, marking a huge leap in the form factor of Apple’s mobile devices.

According to a blogger, the starting price of the iPhone Fold is expected to be as high as 14,999 yuan, making it the most expensive iPhone in Apple’s history. As a high-end foldable model, its price is even significantly higher than its competitor, the Huawei Pura X Max.

The blogger also pointed out that while the iPhone Fold’s imaging performance may be slightly inferior to domestically produced foldable phones, it will offer great surprises in terms of software innovation and performance, reflecting Apple’s unique understanding of foldable screen interaction.

The new phone will debut the A20 Pro chip, manufactured using a cutting-edge 2nm process. It will also come pre-installed with the new iOS 27 system, specifically optimized for foldable screens and supporting more efficient split-screen multitasking.

In terms of hardware specifications, the iPhone Fold will feature an external screen of approximately 5.3 inches and an internal screen of 7.7 inches. It will have a dual 48-megapixel rear camera setup, but will not have a telephoto lens. It will also support side-mounted fingerprint recognition.

According to current plans, Apple will still release the iPhone Fold at its fall event in September. However, due to production delays, the official sales date will likely be one to two months later than the iPhone 18 Pro series.
