According to Fast Technology on July 7, Apple’s first foldable screen phone is rapidly becoming a reality.

According to multiple sources, Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to be named iPhone Ultra and is likely to be officially released in September this year.

As the release date approaches, new developments have emerged in the supply chain.

According to the Shanghai Securities News, sources within the industry have confirmed that the foldable iPhone has entered the mass production stage.

Meanwhile, Foxconn, one of Apple’s core contract manufacturers, has also begun to build up manpower for the production of the new phones.

On July 7, Foxconn in Ganzhou posted a recruitment notice, seeking employees aged 18 to 50 to mainly engage in the production and processing of precision components for Apple mobile phones.

On July 6, Foxconn’s HR department also released recruitment information for temporary workers, covering the Apple A Business Group in Longhua/Guanlan and the Sanying Business Group in Longhua.

Reports indicate that the aforementioned business group is involved in the assembly of foldable iPhones.

Regarding pricing, media outlets currently predict that the iPhone Ultra will start at between $2,299 and $2,499, which is approximately RMB 15,600 to 16,900, making it the most expensive iPhone in Apple’s history.

In terms of hardware specifications, the device will adopt a horizontal inward folding design, equipped with a 7.8-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen, and will eliminate Face ID, replacing it with a side-mounted Touch ID. It will also be equipped with an A20 chip and Apple’s self-developed C2 baseband.

For Apple, the foldable iPhone is not only a form factor innovation, but also a significant milestone in its formal entry into the foldable phone market.

Currently, manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei, Honor, OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi have all launched foldable screen products. With Apple’s entry into the market, it is expected to further boost the popularity of foldable screen phones and drive this category into a new stage of competition.
