foreign media Smartprix revealed relevant information about Xiaomi 15 Ultra today, among which the camera part will undergo a major upgrade.

It is understood that Xiaomi and Sony are working together to develop an enhanced sensor for Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Compared with the LYT-900 sensor of Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the new sensor will perform better in low-light environments.

Among them, Sony’s LYT-900 sensor has 50 million pixels, a super large bottom of 1/0.98 inches, and a single pixel size of 1.6μm. Combined with Xiaomi’s second-generation infinitely variable aperture technology, the maximum aperture can reach ?/1.63.

Compared with IMX989, LYT-900’s power consumption is reduced by 43%, and it achieves a 14EV native ultra-dynamic range, which is 9.5 times that of IMX989, and can retain rich light and dark details.

It is worth mentioning that Xiaomi 15 Ultra will introduce a dedicated 4K movie video mode . Although Xiaomi 14 Ultra has introduced a movie mode, it is limited to recording 1080P.

The new imaging chip introduced by Xiaomi and the image signal processing (ISP) upgrade brought by the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 chip will greatly improve the slow-motion mode.

In addition,
the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be equipped with a new telephoto lens with 200 million pixels and supports 10x zoom , while on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the zoom can only be switched to 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3.2x and 5x.

The selfie camera of Xiaomi 15 Ultra may be upgraded to 50 million pixels , which is an improvement over the 32 million pixels of Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

It is reported that Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 chip, a four-curved display with 2K resolution, a large centered circular lens on the back, and three material options: plain leather, fiberglass and ceramic. It will be released in the first quarter of next year.
