Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 Scores 139 on DXOMark
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, is Xiaomi‘s most expensive mass-produced device to date. The device’s main screen has received a DXOMARK score of 139, ranking it 28th globally, tied with the iPhone 14.
This score also places it as one of the best domestic folding screens on the list, just behind the vivo X Fold, which scored 140.
DXOMARK notes that the MIX Fold 3 shows a significant improvement in overall display quality compared to its predecessor. Despite its limited maximum brightness, the device’s anti-reflective coating ensures better readability even in bright light conditions and minimizes the visual impact of the screen crease.
The Mix Fold 3’s screen performs well in terms of color and brightness consistency from various viewing angles. It also maintains stable frame rates during gaming. However, DXOMARK points out that the Mix Fold 3’s video performance lags behind other devices in its category.
It struggles with brightness and contrast adjustments, particularly when viewing HDR10 videos, where it falls short in brightness and detail representation. Additionally, skin tone rendering under sunlight is not as natural as it could be.
The device’s touch functionality has a slightly longer response time, with delayed reactions when touching the screen’s edges and corners for extended periods, leading to lower touch accuracy.
Despite these drawbacks, the Mix Fold 3, with its upgraded Leica imaging and other features, is considered one of the strongest folding screen phones currently available. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has compared the device’s folded experience to that of an iPhone, aiming to make it the best folding screen when unfolded.
