Xiaomi’s Surge OS 2 development reportedly halted, with Surge OS 3 set to launch in September.
According to XIAOMITIME, Xiaomi has stopped developing the Surge OS 2 system and will not make any new improvements to animation effects.
This also means that Xiaomi’s development resources have been fully tilted towards Surge OS 3, with all its efforts focused on completing the next version.
As usual, the Xiaomi Mi 16 series will be the first to be equipped with Surge OS 3, and the series will be the world’s first to launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which will debut as early as September.
By then, Surge OS 3 will also be unveiled.
According to leaks, the upgrade of Pengpai OS 3 is very significant, which will enhance animation effects and smoothness, and improve system response speed.
The code also revealed that Xiaomi will add two new fonts to the lock screen style: FZFW ZhuZi A YuanS and Coca Cola Care.
