Xiaomi’s SurgeOS 3 Connectivity Service for Windows has launched internal testing

Xiaomi introduced many interconnection functions between Surge OS 3 and Apple at yesterday’s press conference, including the interconnection between Xiaomi phones and iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

It is worth noting that this time Xiaomi not only opened up the Apple ecosystem, but also covered the wider Windows system.

Xiaomi has just announced that the Mi Internet Service Windows General Version (Beta) has started internal testing today. Models that have upgraded to the Surge OS 3 Beta version can try it out.

According to the official introduction, this service allows Xiaomi phones to connect with Windows computers to achieve file transfer, and Xiaomi phones can be directly operated on the computer.

Please note that this feature requires the phone to be running Pengpai OS 3 and the computer to be running Windows 11 or above. The phone must have the “Xiaomi Share” app installed, and the computer must have the “Xiaomi Internet Service” app installed.

Currently available functions are as follows:

Transfer data between computer and Xiaomi phone

1. Share from Xiaomi phone to computer: In the photo album or file management, select the picture or file, click Send, and select the computer device to send.

2. Share from your computer to your Xiaomi phone: In the Xiaomi Internet Service app, select the Xiaomi device you found, select pictures, videos or files and send them.

Using a computer to operate a Xiaomi phone

1. Confirm that the switch of “Settings – Device Connection – MiShare Launcher” on your Xiaomi phone is turned on.

2. In the Xiaomi Internet Service app, click to open the MiShare desktop, pull up the phone window, and use the apps or files in the phone.

3. Supports opening recent apps on Xiaomi phones independently through the app portal in the upper left corner of the “Miaoxiang Launcher”. Supports opening up to 2 mobile app windows at the same time
