Sony Xperia 1 VII circuit board defect issue resolved! Will return to the market
Sony has released an announcement on its official website, announcing that it will resume sales of Xperia 1 VII mobile phones in Europe and Taiwan.
After Sony Xperia 1 VII was launched, it encountered large-scale problems such as frequent crashes, so sales in several markets including Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong were suspended.
Sony subsequently confirmed through investigation that the problem was caused by defective parts in the production process, which could lead to circuit board failure, resulting in abnormal situations such as automatic shutdown, restart, and inability to start up.
Sony said that after the Xperia 1 VII was discontinued, it took a series of measures to resolve the problem, including:
-Immediately change the production process to ensure there will be no problems with future shipments
– Organize the affected phone serial numbers and provide users with replacement instructions on the official website
– Proactively contact users who purchased their phones directly from Sony’s direct sales channels

Depending on the model version, Sony will provide free replacement services to affected users in batches starting from July 24.
Sony also provides a query website where users can enter the IMEI code of their phone to confirm whether their device belongs to the batch of recycling and replacement.
If users confirm that their device belongs to the affected batch, those who purchased it offline can choose to go to the original store for follow-up processing. Those who purchased it online can go to a Sony service station and contact the Sony Customer Service Center.
It is worth noting that when Sony Group CFO Sue Lin apologized, she stated that Sony would not shut down its smartphone business.
