The Apple iPhone 17e is coming: 60Hz low refresh rate island screen.
Apple will launch several low-cost products in the first quarter of 2026, including a MacBook with the A18 Pro chip, an entry-level iPad, and the final model in the iPhone 17 series—the iPhone 17e.
It is worth noting that starting in 2026, Apple will completely change its previous product schedule. The standard version of the iPhone 18 will not be released in September, but will be postponed to the beginning of next year and released at the same time as the “e” suffix model.
In other words, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Air will be released in the second half of 2026, along with Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models will be released in 2027. After that, the standard iPhone + e models will be released in the first half of the year every year.
In terms of specific configuration, although the standard iPhone 17 also achieved a high refresh rate for the first time, Apple does not plan to equip the iPhone 17e with it, which will still have a low refresh rate screen of 60Hz.

However, the screen design has changed, introducing the new “Island” design for the first time, replacing the traditional notch screen, marking the end of the notch screen era for Apple phones across the entire product line.
The rest of the design remains unchanged from its predecessor, with an aluminum alloy body, a 48-megapixel single rear camera, and the front camera may be upgraded to the series’ standard 18-megapixel Center Stage camera.

The iPhone 17e will be powered by the same A19 chip as the standard version, built on TSMC’s 3nm process (N3E), featuring a 6-core CPU (2 performance cores + 4 efficiency cores) and a 5-core GPU architecture, with GPU performance improved by about 20% compared to the A18 chip.
The self-developed baseband continues to be upgraded, equipped with Apple’s self-developed C2 baseband chip, with 8GB of built-in RAM and storage capacity starting at 128GB.
