REDMI Turbo 5 series development is accelerating: World’s first Dimensity 8500
REDMI product manager Hu Xinxin announced that the REDMI Turbo series products are being developed at an accelerated pace.
The REDMI Turbo 5 series has already obtained 3C certification, with the model number 2511FRT34C. This series will be launched before the Spring Festival, and it is expected that REDMI will launch two models at the same time: Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Pro.
In terms of core configuration, the standard version of REDMI Turbo 5 will be the world’s first to feature the Dimensity 8500 processor, while the Turbo 5 Pro will be equipped with the Dimensity 9 series flagship platform and support 100W wired flash charging.
The Dimensity 8500 chip is built on TSMC’s 4nm process. The CPU uses an 8-core Cortex-A725 all-big-core design, with the super-big core having a maximum frequency of 3.4GHz. It also integrates a Mali-G720 GPU with a stable frequency of around 1.5GHz.
Tests have shown that the Dimensity 8500’s GPU theoretical performance surpasses that of the flagship chips Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Snapdragon 8s Gen4, meaning that mid-range devices can also enjoy flagship-level game graphics and a smooth experience.
In terms of benchmark scores, the Dimensity 8500 scores around 2.2 million on AnTuTu, placing it in the top tier of mid-range chips.
In addition, the REDMI Turbo 5 series will also feature a 1.5K flat screen and a large-capacity Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, with a starting price expected to be around 2,000 yuan.
