Fast Technology reported that blogger Smart Pikachu posted that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a brand-new Leica 1-inch main camera, which is touted as the strongest 1-inch camera, achieving top-level performance in dynamic range, low-light detail, and color reproduction.

It is reported that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with the OV50X sensor, which is the new flagship sensor from OmniVision Technologies. It has a 1-inch super large sensor with a pixel size of 1.6 micrometers, dual analog gain (DAG) HDR and in-sensor crop zoom function, and supports up to 8K video recording.

Furthermore, the OV50X is equipped with LOFIC technology, which stands for Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor. The principle is to place a high-density capacitor in each photodiode of the image sensor to collect photoelectrons that might otherwise overflow due to saturation.

In this way, when the number of photoelectrons converted by the photodiode exceeds its original maximum capacity, the excess photoelectrons will flow into the adjacent capacitor, which allows the sensor to better retain the highlight information in the shooting scene and makes it less likely to overexpose.

In terms of industrial design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra does not have a rear screen, but instead uses a ring-shaped lens module with a Leica triple camera setup on the back, including a 1-inch main camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens. The front is a flat screen.

The device will be officially unveiled this month.
