Huawei has begun pre-launch marketing for the Pura X2, which is expected to be released in April. It is the world’s first horizontally foldable phone with a large screen size.

The new phone is codenamed “Hope” and comes in four colors: white, green, orange, and blue-black .

As a “large folding” folding phone, the Pura X2 is significantly larger than the previous Pura X, with a 7.69-inch WQHD+ inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen. The inner screen can display more content, while the outer screen is relatively more practical.

It’s worth mentioning that multiple sources have confirmed that the foldable iPhone will also use a similar design, with an unfolded proportion similar to a tablet, and will be released in September.

In addition, Samsung will also enter this market, and like Huawei, it will offer both wide-angle and standard-angle foldable phones.

In addition to the size change, the Pura X2 will also be upgraded to the Kirin 9030 chip, the same chip used in the Huawei Mate 80 series, which adopts a brand-new 9-core architecture and significantly improves performance.

In terms of imaging, it is expected to be equipped with a red maple quad-camera system, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 1.5-megapixel multispectral channel red maple primary color camera.

In contrast, the Huawei Pura X features a 6.3-inch inner screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 3.5-inch square outer screen with a 1:1 aspect ratio. It also has a triple rear camera setup (50MP main camera + 40MP ultra-wide-angle + 8MP telephoto) and supports the Red Maple Imaging System.

It has a built-in 4720mAh battery, supports 66W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging, and has a starting price of 7499 yuan.
