Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra first exposure: 200 million pixel periscope-level crazy stacking
blogger Digital Chat Station exposed the imaging details of Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The phone tested two options, one is a quad-camera with 200 million pixel periscope telephoto. The telephoto model is Samsung HP9, with a longer physical focal length and support for super telephoto. The overall shape is a centered large circle design.
It is reported that Samsung ISOCELL HP9 is the industry’s first 200-megapixel telephoto sensor for smartphones. It adopts 1/1.4-inch optical specifications and has 200 million 0.56-micron pixels built in.
In addition, the sensor can be converted into a 12-megapixel, 2.24μm sensor through 4*4 pixel merging, which can produce clear images even at night.
It is worth noting that Samsung’s unique high-refractive index microlens uses new materials, enabling the HP9 sensor to accurately direct more light to the corresponding RGB filters, thereby significantly improving the photosensitivity. Compared with the previous generation products, the HP9’s sensitivity is increased by 12%, and the autofocus contrast performance is improved by 10%, achieving more vivid color reproduction and stronger focusing performance.
In addition, HP9 uses a remosaic algorithm to provide 2x or 4x in-sensor zoom modes, and when used with a 3x zoom telephoto module, it can achieve up to 12x zoom while maintaining clear image quality.
In terms of core configuration, Xiaomi 15 is expected to adopt a 2K screen, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 platform, and support ultrasonic screen fingerprint.
