Apple plans to equip all models in the iPhone 17 series with high refresh rate screens as standard, which will be a major change for Apple phones.

In recent years, high refresh rate screens have become standard for high-end smartphones, providing a smoother visual experience and more delicate display effects. In the Android phone market, even entry-level phones priced around RMB 1,000 are generally equipped with high refresh rate screens.

Starting from the iPhone 13 series, Apple’s standard version and Plus models have only supported a 60Hz refresh rate. Compared with the high refresh screen of the Pro series, it is relatively unattractive, resulting in mediocre sales performance .

Faced with fierce market competition and changes in consumer demand, Apple needs to take measures to enhance the attractiveness of iPhone products. The 120Hz high refresh rate as standard for the entire series is expected to make up for the difference in screens between the standard version and Pro-level products.

The latest news is that the iPhone 17 series to be launched this year will add a new Air version. This version will replace the Plus version and form a new product matrix with the standard version, Pro version and Pro Max version.

In terms of core configuration, the iPhone 17 series will use TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process A19 and A19 Pro chips.
