Apple’s first foldable phone is here! Latest CAD drawings of the iPhone Fold have been released

According to Fast Technology on March 10, one of Apple’s most anticipated new products this year is undoubtedly its first foldable screen phone—the iPhone Fold, which is expected to be officially released this fall.

Recently, well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson shared 3D CAD design drawings of the iPhone Fold.

Based on previous leaks, the overall appearance of the new phone is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

CAD drawings show that the device adopts a left-right folding design, with an overall shape resembling a book folding mechanism. The rear camera module has a style similar to the iPhone Air and is equipped with a dual-camera system.

In terms of the screen,
the iPhone Fold features a centered punch-hole front camera on the outer screen, while the inner screen has another punch-hole camera in the upper left corner, achieving a dual front camera solution for both the inner and outer screens.

According to leaks, the device has a 5.5-inch external screen and a 7.8-inch internal screen. The external screen has a resolution of 2088 x 1422, while the internal screen has a resolution of 2713 x 1920.

In terms of screen structure, the iPhone Fold will use ultra-thin glass + transparent polyimide film protection. Its core goal is to solve the long-standing problem of creases in foldable screens – by dispersing the bending stress of the screen through a metal plate, and at the same time introducing liquid metal materials inside the hinge, so as to reduce creases as much as possible from the hardware structure.

Due to the significant increase in the cost of the hinge, screen, and body structure, the iPhone Fold will be priced significantly higher than the existing iPhone.

The US version is expected to be priced between $2,000 and $2,500, which is approximately RMB 13,821 to 17,276. It is expected to become Apple’s first iPhone with a price exceeding $2,000.
