Honor 700 series is preparing a major surprise: native rear screen and top celebrity endorsement.
According to a report by Fast Technology on October 30, blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that the Honor 700 series is about to be launched, including at least two models: a standard version and a Pro version.
This series features a golden-size mid-screen display and, for the first time, a native rear screen. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, has a rear periscope telephoto lens, and supports a 200mm telephoto teleconverter. It is also endorsed by a top celebrity.
Compared to the Honor 600 series, the biggest change in the Honor 700 series is this native back screen. Its value lies not in “adding another screen,” but in transforming the originally monotonous back of the phone into a lightweight interactive interface.
Specifically, this native rear screen can reduce the frequency of waking up the main screen. Low-frequency information such as notifications, schedules, weather, and timers can be displayed on the always-on rear screen, which uses a low-power always-on solution, helping to extend battery life. For users who frequently check notifications, this division of labor reduces unnecessary main screen wake-ups.
In addition, the back screen can display dynamic wallpapers, notification light effects, personalized signatures, and more, transforming the back of the phone from a simple material design into a versatile aesthetic element. Changing the wallpaper is essentially like changing the phone case. In a highly homogenized mobile phone market, the back screen also enhances the space for personalized expression.
More importantly, the rear screen allows the rear main camera to handle selfie framing. Compared to the front camera, the rear camera typically has a larger sensor and better image quality. Using the rear screen as a viewfinder allows users to capture selfies and vlog compositions with higher-quality lenses, while retaining the convenience of an external screen preview.
From this perspective, the native back screen of the Honor 700 series not only adds a display area, but also attempts to establish a new interaction method between battery life, personalization and imaging experience.
