The Pura 80 series has been released, so is the Mate 80 series far behind?

According to wccftech, Huawei’s new generation flagship Mate 80 is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter. By then, the new phone is expected to be equipped with the new Kirin 9030 processor, and it is rumored that its performance will be improved by 20%.

Last month, after the Huawei Pura 80 series was launched, a blogger disassembled it immediately. The results showed that it is still equipped with the Kirin 9020 processor, which is consistent with last year’s Mate 70 series.

Yu Chengdong said at the press conference that compared with the Pura 70 Pro+ equipped with Kirin 9010, the overall performance of the Pura 80 series has been improved by 36% and the control fluency has been improved by 47%.

Detection information shows that the Kirin 9020 CPU part consists of 1×Taishan large core 2.5GHz + 3×Taishan medium core 2.15GHz + 4×1.6GHz small core, 8 cores and 12 threads, and an integrated Maleoon 920 840MHz GPU.

At present, the best process used by all Huawei Kirin series processors is still 7nm, and the 5nm breakthrough is still on the way.

Therefore, the Kirin 9030 will most likely continue to use the 7nm process, and will “improve the core architecture and continue the process” based on the Kirin 9020, taking small steps and making fast progress.

As early as November last year, it was revealed that Huawei had achieved a breakthrough in key chip technologies, and that in the future Kirin chips will be iterated according to the K9020/9030/9040 pattern.
