Fast Technology reported that blogger Digital Chat Station revealed detailed specifications of the Huawei Mate 90 series. According to the leak, both the Huawei Mate 90 Pro and Mate 90 Pro Max will feature dual-layer OLED screens, with the Pro Max version boasting a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, making it the brightest mobile phone screen in Huawei’s history.

This is thanks to the new dual-layer OLED technology featured in the Mate 90 Pro Max. Dual-layer OLED, also known as Tandem OLED, is an innovative display technology that adds another layer of light-emitting units on top of the traditional single-layer OLED light-emitting units. Its core principle is to vertically stack two RGB light-emitting units to form a “dual-layer light-emitting” structure, and improve the overall display performance through the collaborative work of the two layers.

This technology not only doubles the brightness of OLED screens but also significantly extends their lifespan. By halving the electric field intensity experienced by each light-emitting layer, the aging rate of the materials is greatly slowed down, achieving a better balance between display performance and durability.

In terms of hardware configuration, the standard Huawei Mate 90 is equipped with the Kirin 9030 series chip, the Mate 90 Pro is also equipped with the Kirin 9030 series chip, while the Mate 90 Pro Max is equipped with the Kirin 9050 Pro chip, with a maximum battery capacity of 6800mAh and a triple rear camera setup.

Compared to the Kirin 9030 Pro, the Kirin 9050 Pro’s CPU has expanded from a tri-cluster design to a quad-cluster design. Among them, there is still one super core, the large cores have been further subdivided from the previous generation’s four cores into two performance large cores and four energy-efficient large cores, and the number of ultra-low power small cores has been reduced from four to two.

In addition, the Mate 90 series will come pre-installed with the new HarmonyOS 7 system. The new system also features a new performance mode, which, when enabled, improves performance by 25% compared to HarmonyOS 6. The device is expected to be officially released this month.
