According to Fast Technology on September 18th, following the iteration pattern of the Pura series, Huawei will launch the Pura 100 series in the first half of next year. The blogger Digital Chat Station hinted that Huawei is evaluating a widescreen solution for the Pura 100 series, which could be the first widescreen imaging flagship under HarmonyOS.

Previously, Huawei launched the Pura X View, a wide-screen smartphone with a starting price of 5999 yuan. This phone features a wide 16:9.5 aspect ratio screen. Compared to the generally elongated design of mainstream candybar phones, the Pura X View widens the screen area horizontally, allowing the phone to maintain a candybar form factor and slim body while providing a wider viewing area.

The phone has a 6.39-inch screen with a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio and bezels on all four sides that are only 1.05mm wide. The display area is 114.27 square centimeters, which is larger than the 6.9-inch iPhone 17 Pro Max (Note: The display area of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 111.55 square centimeters).

Whether for reading, watching movies, gaming, or mobile work, the immersive experience offered by a widescreen phone is superior to that of a traditional candybar phone. For example, when browsing documents and spreadsheets, a widescreen display shows more rows and columns, reducing the need for frequent swiping and improving operational efficiency.

The phone was a huge success after its launch, with daily sales exceeding 180,000 units. Influenced by Huawei, many mobile phone manufacturers began to re-evaluate the wide-bar design, and this new form factor moved from trial and error to mainstream attention.

If the Huawei Pura 100 series adopts a wide-screen design, coupled with the flagship-level imaging capabilities of the Pura series, the new product is expected to become the next blockbuster.

In terms of performance, the Huawei Pura 100 series is expected to be equipped with the Kirin 9050 series flagship chip. Considering that the Pura 90 series uses the Kirin 9030S, the Pura 100 series is likely to use the Kirin 9050S chip. With deep optimization of the HarmonyOS system, the overall smoothness and energy efficiency are expected to reach a new level, making it something to look forward to.
