Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max International Version Shows 5G Network: Breaking Through the Siege
Huawei will launch its flagship imaging series, the Pura 90s, in overseas markets on July 14. The series is expected to include three models: Pura 90s, Pura 90s Pro, and Pura 90s Pro Max. The international version of the Pura 90s Pro Max is designated as SCA-LX9.
Recently, a netizen posted a hands-on video of the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max on social media. The video clearly shows the 5G network icon in the device’s status bar, and speed test software shows download speeds exceeding 1100Mbps at one point.

It is understood that the Pura 90s Pro Max is the first Huawei international version model to support 5G networks in recent years, which marks the official restart of Huawei’s 5G strategy in the global market and breaks through the barriers previously caused by technical restrictions.

Looking back, in the early stages of the sanctions, Huawei mainly relied on 4G equipment to maintain its annual revenue. In 2023, the Mate 60 Pro broke through this technological bottleneck in China with the return of the Kirin 5G chip. However, due to restrictions imposed by technology trade rules, Huawei had not previously promoted its 5G solutions to the global market.
With the arrival of the Pura 90s series, Huawei has achieved a key breakthrough in the global market, once again expanding its 5G business footprint to the global stage.
Furthermore, the full return of Kirin chips makes Huawei the only mobile phone manufacturer in the world to achieve a closed loop across the entire chip design, manufacturing, and packaging chain. Behind this breakthrough lies Huawei’s deep layout in the semiconductor industry chain, encompassing EDA tools, chip stacking technology, and synergistic breakthroughs in domestic mature process capacity.
Industry insiders point out that the full return of Kirin not only signifies the complete recovery of Huawei’s supply chain resilience, but also means that China’s mobile phone industry has taken control of its own destiny in core technologies. After many years, Huawei has finally forged a path of self-reliance and control.
