OnePlus 15 preview: The world’s first high-refresh and high-definition screen
At the just-concluded Peace Elite Professional League (PEL) Summer Finals, OnePlus 15 made its public debut and was confirmed to be the designated model for the new generation of PEL official competitions.
From the actual pictures exposed on the scene, we can see that the imaging module of the OnePlus 15 adopts a new rounded matrix Deco layout, which is similar to the style of the previous OnePlus 13T, and is more concise and capable overall. At the same time, the imaging system of this phone no longer continues the collaboration with Hasselblad, but instead uses the OPPO LUMO condensed light imaging solution.

In terms of screen, OnePlus 15 will debut the 1.5K 165Hz high refresh rate screen jointly developed with BOE. Officials say that the screen R corner processing, border control, display quality and eye protection experience have been greatly optimized, enough to be compared head-on with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
In terms of core performance, the new phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform, which is currently the most powerful Snapdragon flagship chip and is built based on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm (N3P) process.
The CPU adopts a 2+6 full-core architecture, including two Oryonv2 super cores (up to 4.61GHz) and six high-performance large cores (3.63GHz), and is equipped with an Adreno GPU with a frequency of up to 1.2GHz, providing strong support for graphics performance.
In terms of software, OnePlus 15 will also be the first to be equipped with the new ColorOS 16 system, achieving comprehensive upgrades in interactive experience, fluency optimization and AI function expansion.
Overall, OnePlus 15 has brought all-round evolution in appearance design, imaging performance, screen experience, performance platform and operating system. Combined with its endorsement as the designated model for the PEL official competition, it not only provides gamers with the ultimate competitive experience, but also brings the full value of an all-round flagship to high-end users.
Editor’s comments:
OnePlus 15 chose to abandon the Kazakhstan-based brand name and instead rely on OPPO’s self-developed imaging solution, which means that its product positioning will highlight the comprehensive balance of “performance and experience” rather than a single imaging marketing label.
Coupled with the combination of a top-tier screen and the Snapdragon 8 Gen5 Extreme Edition, OnePlus is clearly aiming to compete with Apple and Samsung in the high-end market. Judging from the launch of the PEL tournament, esports players will also be a key target audience.
