The OnePlus 16 will be the first to feature the fourth-generation Oriental Screen, which was jointly developed by OnePlus and BOE and supports a global ultra-high refresh rate of 165Hz.

According to the blogger Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 features a global forced 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate, eliminating the issue of games running at 165Hz while the desktop only displays 120Hz.

Looking back at the previous flagship OnePlus 15, it was the first to achieve a 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate on a 1.5K resolution screen, solving the dilemma of balancing ultra-high refresh rate and high resolution. However, its 165Hz high refresh rate capability was mostly limited to gaming scenarios, and would still drop back to 120Hz for everyday desktop and third-party apps.

The OnePlus 16 takes this experience to a new level. It is the first phone in the industry to launch a new generation of Oriental Screen and support a global 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate. Whether it is the system desktop or various third-party applications, it can run a smooth 165Hz experience.

From “available in specific scenarios” to “universal adoption,” the OnePlus 16 makes the 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate a true part of the daily experience. Compared to the traditional 120Hz, 165Hz refreshes 45 more frames per second, and the improvement in smoothness is particularly noticeable in fast scrolling and gaming scenarios.

In terms of core configuration, the OnePlus 16 will be among the first phones to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultra platform, the sixth generation of which boasts a CPU clock speed exceeding 5GHz for the first time, marking the mobile phone industry’s official entry into the 5GHz era.

Its CPU consists of two 5.01GHz ultra-large cores, three 4.03GHz performance cores, and three 3.74GHz energy-efficient cores, integrating an Adreno 850 GPU. Manufactured using TSMC’s most advanced 2nm process, it is the most powerful mobile chip in the Android camp in terms of overall performance. With the launch of the OnePlus 16, the combination of a 165Hz global high refresh rate and a top-tier chip is redefining the smoothness standard for Android flagships.
