Realme 12 Pro Series Will Be Upgraded With OV64B Periscope Telephoto Lens

The Realme 12 Pro series is set to feature the OV64B periscope telephoto lens, marking a significant focus on imaging capabilities for the brand’s upcoming release. This development was teased by Realme ahead of the year, highlighting the series’ first incorporation of a periscope-style telephoto lens in its digital lineup.

According to leaks from the well-known Chinese leaker @Digital Chat Station, the Realme 12 Pro series, which is highly anticipated to launch post-Chinese New Year, will include the OV64B lens, likely positioning it as a major contender in smartphone photography. The Realme 12 Pro series is expected to consist of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+, with the latter featuring the OV64B periscope telephoto lens.

The OV64B sensor boasts a 1/2-inch large sensor size with 0.7µm pixels, promising significant improvements in image resolution, light sensitivity, and low-light performance compared to smaller sensors. The Realme 12 Pro+ is anticipated to support 3x optical zoom, 120x digital zoom, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), offering a qualitative leap in imaging capabilities at a higher cost.
