Blogger Digital Chat Station hinted that REDMI’s high-performance mobile phone next year is testing an 8000mAh super-large battery, which is the model with the largest battery under Xiaomi.

It is reported that REDMI’s high-performance products include the Turbo series and the Extreme series, which means that the REDMI 8K battery model may be the K90 Extreme Edition or the Turbo 5 Pro.

Currently, REDMI’s high-performance models have exceeded 7000mAh, and the Turbo 4 Pro launched in the first half of the year is equipped with a 7550mAh battery.

Since last year, the Android camp has been competing for battery capacity, thanks to the large-scale commercial use of silicon-carbon negative electrode batteries. Compared with lithium batteries, silicon-carbon negative electrode batteries have a higher energy density.

It is reported that the principle of silicon-carbon negative electrode battery technology is mainly based on the high theoretical specific capacity of silicon materials and its unique alloying lithium storage mechanism. Silicon reacts with lithium to form an alloy with a theoretical specific capacity of up to 4200mAh/g, which is much higher than the 372mAh/g of traditional graphite materials.

In addition, silicon-carbon negative electrode batteries have higher safety performance. The lower lithium insertion and extraction potential avoids lithium deposition on the surface during charging and reduces the risk of battery short circuit.
