Fast Technology reported that blogger iIce Universe revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 series has set a new pre-order record in the South Korean market. The series has received a total of 1.44 million pre-orders, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 alone accounting for 70% of those, approximately 1 million units.

It’s important to note that this performance only reflects the results in the South Korean market. If sales in other regions worldwide are included, the Galaxy Z Fold8 series is almost certain to surpass 2 million units shipped, indicating a very enthusiastic market response.

The Galaxy Z Fold8’s success is largely attributed to its breaking away from the traditional form factor of foldable screens. It was the first Android phone to adopt a wide fold design, becoming the first flagship product in the Android camp to feature such a design, bringing a completely new folding experience to the market.

The device features a brand-new 10:16 external screen and a 4:3 internal screen. Thanks to the wider screen ratio, the top and bottom black bars are significantly reduced when watching videos, greatly enhancing the visual immersion and providing users with a more tablet-like experience.

In addition, both the inner and outer screens of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 use second-generation Dynamic AMOLED displays, supporting a 120Hz screen refresh rate, a PPI of over 400, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Combined with the screen’s anti-reflective coating, it can maintain a clear and delicate viewing experience even in bright light.

In terms of hardware configuration, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy flagship platform, a built-in 4800mAh battery, a 50-megapixel dual rear camera, and two 10-megapixel front cameras. The overall configuration is balanced, taking into account both performance and daily shooting needs.

In terms of price, the starting price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 in China is 12,999 yuan.
