Samsung S26 Ultra is scheduled for release this month: the Android flagship is back.
This month, Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked product launch event to officially launch its annual flagship Galaxy S26 series, which includes three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
As the release date approaches, key details of the series continue to be revealed. Recently, an insider even shared the official promotional poster for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, allowing the design and some specifications of this top-of-the-line flagship to surface ahead of time.
Judging from the leaked posters, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be available in a color called Cobalt Purple. The right-angled metal frame and glass back panel are designed in the same color scheme, presenting a harmonious and unified visual effect and highlighting the texture.
In terms of design, the phone retains the core elements of its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The biggest difference is in the rear camera area – the three cameras on the left are integrated into an oval camera island, forming a unique quad-camera layout, which is one of the key distinguishing features between the two generations of models. The phone still maintains the flagship-level exquisite texture and feel in hand, with a body size of approximately 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm, balancing a large screen experience with portability.
In terms of chip configuration, Samsung adopts a dual-chip strategy for the global market: the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ offer two versions in South Korea and Europe, one with Exynos 2600 and the other with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is exclusively equipped with a custom Qualcomm chip worldwide.
For the Chinese market, the Chinese version of the Galaxy S26 series will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 chip as standard across the board, abandoning the Exynos 2600 version. This takes into account the compatibility of domestic apps, game optimization, and signal performance, adapting to the usage habits of Chinese users and demonstrating a precise strategy for the local market.

In addition to its core performance, the Galaxy S26 Ultra also features a comprehensive upgrade in screen and imaging capabilities. It boasts a 6.9-inch M14 OLED flat screen with 2K+ resolution and a 1-144Hz adaptive refresh rate. Peak brightness has been increased to 3000 nits, ensuring clear display even in bright sunlight. It also adds AI privacy protection technology, which intelligently detects surrounding eye contact and adjusts the screen’s viewing area to balance display quality and privacy.
In terms of the imaging system, the rear quad-camera setup covers all focal lengths, including a 200MP HP2 main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, a 12MP mid-range lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It can handle various scenarios such as low-light shooting, long-distance framing, and portrait photography, further enhancing its imaging capabilities.

In terms of battery life and detailed configuration, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a built-in 5000mAh high-capacity battery, supports 60W wired fast charging and 25W wireless fast charging, and with chip energy efficiency optimization and intelligent power saving management, it can meet the all-day use needs of heavy users. It also supports reverse wireless charging to provide emergency power for accessories such as headphones and watches, making it extremely practical.
In addition, the phone features a titanium alloy body, comes standard with 16GB of RAM, and offers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. It also includes a built-in S Pen, and the Chinese version supports Tiantong satellite communication and eSIM functionality, comprehensively covering the needs of high-end users.
Regarding pricing, previous leaks indicated that the Galaxy S26 Ultra would be priced 6% higher than its predecessor, with the top-of-the-line version undoubtedly exceeding 10,000 yuan, making it the first Ultra flagship model in the 10,000 yuan price range in 2026.
However, pricing varies across different markets. In the European market, the 256GB and 512GB versions are priced €100 lower than the previous generation, while the 1TB top-of-the-line version remains unchanged at €1,829 (approximately RMB 15,232). The specific pricing for the Chinese version is still pending official announcement. It is expected to maintain its high-end positioning, balancing configuration upgrades with reasonable pricing, to compete with flagship phones in the same class and further solidify Samsung’s position in the high-end smartphone market.
