Samsung’s first ultra-wide foldable phone! The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is set to launch on July 22nd.
According to Fast Technology on July 1, multiple leaks have recently claimed that Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Z series will be released on July 22, and now there is another piece of official confirmation.
In Malaysia, Samsung is offering loyal fans an exclusive RM700 (US$171) discount on “buying the next Galaxy Foldable” device. This feature will be available in the Samsung Members app from July 22 to October 4, confirming the release date.
Samsung has launched three new generation foldable screen phones: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Among them, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the most anticipated model and a brand new addition. It is Samsung’s first wide foldable phone, with a size and proportion similar to the Huawei Pura X Max.

According to leaks, the device features a 7.6-inch internal screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio, providing a display effect similar to the iPad. Combined with a 5.4-inch external screen, it completely departs from the traditional narrow and elongated shape of foldable screens, significantly improving the experience of document reading and multitasking.
Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
With core configurations on par with flagship models, it features a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
It features a rear dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a built-in 4800mAh battery, and supports 45W wired and 25W wireless fast charging.
With a thickness of 9.8mm when folded and only 4.9mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, it will become the world’s lightest and widest foldable phone, weighing approximately 200g.
Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone, to be released in September, will also have a similar aspect ratio. Combined with Huawei’s Pura X series, the three major manufacturers will engage in fierce competition in the wide foldable screen market.
