Solve these five major pain points and iPhone sales will hit new highs! Friendly businessmen should panic

Since the advent of the iPhone in 2007, Apple has occupied a pivotal position in the field of smartphones. Every new product release will attract enthusiastic attention from consumers around the world, especially the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These two models are undoubtedly It is the current leader in the market.

However, even though these two products have reached a very high level, Apple still needs to conduct in-depth research and optimization in certain aspects.

The refresh rate of the basic model needs to be improved

In today’s smartphone market, if you choose to buy an Android phone, you can almost be sure that you will have a phone that supports at least 90Hz refresh rate, and more likely 120Hz (or even higher in some cases).

This trend also applies to models positioned as the “best budget phones”, such as Samsung A54 and Redmi Turbo 3.

However, in iOS, the situation is very different. Unless you choose to buy the pricier Pro series model, you’ll only get a 120Hz refresh rate. Even the newly released and expensive iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus only stay at a 60Hz refresh rate.

The 60Hz refresh rate is clearly outdated and basic for the smartphone market of 2024, which makes it hard to believe that Apple is still insisting on using this technology. Although such a choice may be barely acceptable on a specific model such as iPhone SE (2022), continuing to use such a refresh rate on its mainstream product line will obviously not satisfy consumers.

This difference may partly explain why more and more consumers tend to choose the Pro series of iPhones. But in any case, this is indeed a problem that Apple needs to face and solve. However, judging from the current situation, all signs indicate that the iPhone 16 may still use the 60Hz refresh rate, which will undoubtedly disappoint users who expect a higher screen experience.

Shortcomings of Telephoto Camera Capabilities

The iPhone 15 Pro Max has made significant improvements in telephoto camera technology, particularly from 3x to 5x optical zoom, but it still falls short of the high standards of some competitors. For example, the Samsung S23 Ultra excels in this field with its up to 10x optical zoom capability, and the Sony Xperia 1 VI’s 7.1x zoom capability.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI is particularly eye-catching, as it achieves smooth transitions between different zoom levels through a single lens. This smoothness provides users with an excellent photography experience. In contrast, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s telephoto camera is limited to a single zoom level, and there’s a noticeable drop in image quality when trying to use digital zoom beyond 5x.

Of course, the degradation of image quality during digital zoom is almost technically inevitable, but flagship phones such as Samsung, Xiaomi, vivo, and OPPO usually show better performance in long-distance digital zoom, making these phones better in long-distance digital zoom. Telephoto photography is more competitive.

Charging speed lag

In terms of charging speed, the iPhone has obviously fallen behind the mainstream of the market. For example, OnePlus 12 supports charging power up to 100W, Xiaomi Mi 14 Pro reaches an astonishing 120W, and Samsung S24 Ultra also supports at least 45W charging speed.

However, in comparison, the official specifications of the iPhone 15 series show that its charging power fails to exceed 20W.

This lagging situation results in that even though the iPhone’s battery capacity is smaller than that of most similar Android phones, its charging speed is significantly slower. In terms of wireless charging, the iPhone 15 series has also failed to break through, supporting only a maximum wireless charging power of 15W.

Apple doesn’t seem to have improved charging speeds as its main focus, but this technological lag certainly puts it at a disadvantage in the market. Therefore, we expect Apple to improve its charging technology in future products to better meet user needs and keep up with its competitors.

Battery capacity needs to be improved urgently

The iPhone has always adopted a relatively conservative strategy in terms of battery capacity, which has been criticized by users. Even the latest iPhone 15 Pro Max, with its 4441mAh battery capacity, is still relatively small among Android phones of similar size.

In comparison, many top Android phones come with standard battery capacities of 5,000mAh, and some models even have battery capacities as high as 6,000mAh or more.

Although iPhone users may not need a phone with a 6000mAh battery, Apple can at least consider increasing the battery capacity of the Pro Max and Plus series models to about 5000mAh. For the smaller standard and Pro models, the battery capacity should also be increased to at least 4000mAh (currently the battery capacity of these models is less than 3500mAh).

Although increasing the battery capacity may result in an increase in weight and thickness of the phone, considering that it can give users nearly two days of battery life, such a change is obviously worth it. After all, the iPhone already performs well in terms of battery life. If the battery capacity is further increased, its battery life will be even more impressive.

The number of lenses needs to be increased

In terms of the number of lenses, the iPhone also appears relatively conservative. For example, although the iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with three rear lenses, it is still lacking compared to the four-lens system found in top models from brands such as Samsung.

For those iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus equipped with two lenses, the lack of telephoto lens is undoubtedly a pity. As representatives of high-end models, they should provide users with a more comprehensive and professional photography experience.

Of course, the configuration of three lenses can already cover the basic needs of wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto, but if multi-level optical zoom technology like Samsung S24 Ultra can be introduced, it will bring more flexible and rich shooting options to users. . Because in actual use, users do not always need the ultimate 5x zoom effect, and multi-level zoom can meet the shooting needs in more scenes.

write at the end

Apple should fully consider the above aspects in future product planning to continue to maintain its leading position in the smartphone market.
