Is the first launch of Xiaomi 15 going to be intercepted?

Yesterday afternoon, OnePlus held another “bulk press conference” and teamed up with BOE to release a new generation of Oriental screens. When introducing OnePlus 13, it announced on the spot “see you next week.”

But considering that the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit will not be held until next Tuesday Beijing time, the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition is expected to debut on Wednesday. Mr. Lu also said that Xiaomi will launch the new flagship platform first, but the Xiaomi 15 series has not been officially announced.

OnePlus is so confident, is it planning to steal the show?

Even the phone in Snapdragon’s official announcement video a few days ago has obvious OnePlus design language… Even if it is not released, at least there is a chance for it to show up.

There is not much time left for Xiaomi. No wonder Tencent is in a hurry.

But then again, judging from the current leaks, the product strength of OnePlus 13 is still quite strong.

Take the screen for example. At yesterday’s press conference, Li Jie explained why he held a “bulk press conference”: because the screen is so amazing, it may even be the best mobile phone screen you can buy in the next year…

The front appearance of OnePlus 13 was also announced on the spot. It can be seen that OnePlus 13 has bid farewell to the dual-curved screen this time and instead uses an equal-depth four-micro-curved screen with the appearance of equal width on all four sides.

Last year, the first generation of OnePlus 12’s Oriental screen was very competitive among a number of domestic screens. Now the second generation has pushed the envelope again, becoming the world’s first DisplayMate A++ certified screen, with significant improvements in four aspects: display quality, strong light visibility, eye protection, and smooth touch experience.

And this screen also uses customized X2 luminous material, which not only reduces power consumption, but also provides color consistency at different viewing angles. OnePlus 13 is also equipped with a P2 screen chip to further improve color performance and improve the problem of ghosting.

In addition, OnePlus 13 also supports solar display technology, which can maintain color performance comparable to indoors under outdoor sunlight. The official name is “sun protection screen”.

In the lighting environment simulated at the press conference, the OnePlus 13 with a confidentiality case in the middle has obvious advantages.

In terms of eye protection, OnePlus 13 also supports full brightness DC dimming, and can also reduce color cast without affecting the display effect. It also supports Mingmu low-flicker 2.0 and adopts 3Pulse dimming strategy. The stroboscopic comparison between it and Apple and Samsung flagships was also released on site. The advantages are very intuitive. I wonder if domestic competitors can compete with it?

The OnePlus 13 screen also uses 8T LTPO technology, supports adaptive high refresh, and also supports local high refresh. Different areas of the screen can also have different refresh rates.

In addition to the screen upgrade, more detailed specifications of OnePlus 13 have also been gradually disclosed recently.

In terms of body material, OnePlus 13 may adopt a combination of metal frame and glass back panel. The previous “hinge” on the back will be cancelled, and the rear camera module will be separated. You can refer to OnePlus Ace3 Pro.

In terms of imaging, it will be equipped with LYT808 main camera, ultra-wide-angle and 3x optical zoom periscope lenses, both of which will be 50-megapixel IMX882, and still support Hasselblad professional imaging system.

In addition, the OnePlus 13 also has IP68/69 dust and water resistance, and is equipped with a 0916T motor. The battery capacity will be increased to 6000mAh and support 100W wired fast charging.

In terms of core configuration, in addition to the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition, OnePlus 13 is also expected to provide a top-end version with 24GB+1TB.

Overall, OnePlus 13 has been significantly improved in many aspects and is still a balanced high-end flagship. However, considering that manufacturers will collectively increase prices this year, OnePlus 13 will surely not be cheap. OnePlus employee Cai Zuxuan previously stated on Weibo that the price of the mid-range version of OnePlus 13 (suspected to be 16+512GB) will exceed 5,200 yuan.

But considering that the starting configuration of OnePlus 12 is 16+512GB, it seems that OnePlus 13 is expected to add a lower capacity version to lower the price, but it is estimated to be more than 4,500 yuan. What do you think?
