According to the latest report by Mar Gurman, many users are expected to use the Apple Card installment plan to Purchase Apple Vision Pro, this creates interesting financial implications for the upcoming release of the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The Apple Vision Pro, priced at a steep $3499, is set to hit the market soon, with an initial shipment estimate of 60,000 to 80,000 units. Given the high price, most buyers are expected to opt for installment payments using the Apple Card to ease the financial burden of a one-time purchase.

This scenario is likely to benefit Goldman Sachs, the issuer of the Apple Card. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, if 300,000 people use Apple Card to finance their Vision Pro purchase, it could generate a loan volume of $1 billion for the card. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that the shipment volume of the Vision Pro headset could reach 500,000 units this year.

Despite previous reports of a $1.2 billion loss in 2022 due to the Apple Card project, Goldman Sachs continues to issue the card, indicating its ongoing involvement in the loan business. While the Vision Pro might not achieve the same success as other Apple products, it is expected to pave the way for more affordable AR headsets in the future.

A notable challenge for Goldman Sachs is that these $1 billion loans are interest-free, meaning the bank won’t profit from the installment business if customers pay on time.

Analysts are divided on the prospects of the Vision Pro. Some suggest Apple should focus on more promising areas like generative AI, while others believe the Vision Pro is crucial for laying the groundwork for future, more affordable AR headsets, provided it gains sufficient market acceptance.
