Xiaomi Surge OS 3 Passes China Telecommunication Technology Labs’ AI Capability Assessment

Xiaomi officially released the new generation system Surge OS 3 yesterday, which has greatly improved in terms of fluency, security, AI, etc.

According to an official statement from China Telecommunication Technology Labs, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology recently conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the AI capabilities of the mobile terminal operating system “Xiaomi Surge OS 3” developed by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd.

The evaluation results show that Xiaomi Surge OS 3 passed all service capability domain tests and reached the five-star standard.

This evaluation is based on FG-Z18-0016-01 “Mobile Terminal Operating System AI Capability Evaluation Plan”, which systematically clarifies the various technical requirements, detection methods, and quantitative indicators of the operating system’s AI capabilities. It aims to comprehensively test the operating system’s comprehensive AI performance in computing power scheduling, scenario-based services, and ecological collaboration, provide the industry with authoritative and quantifiable evaluation methods, and promote the standardized development and continuous innovation of terminal operating system AI technology.

Its core evaluation dimensions include the following five key aspects: edge-end-cloud collaboration capabilities, end-side large model benchmark capabilities, multimodal fusion perception and proactive service capabilities, multimodal end-side AI search capabilities, and multi-device intelligent collaborative execution capabilities.

According to TUV Rheinland Labs, Xiaomi Surge OS is based on the self-developed Xiaomi Vela system kernel and combined with a deeply optimized Linux kernel, which has comprehensively innovated the underlying architecture and significantly improved hardware scheduling efficiency and memory management capabilities.

It supports distributed collaborative computing, has excellent heterogeneous compatibility, and can flexibly adapt to various devices such as mobile phones, cars, smart homes, etc., breaking the hardware boundaries and realizing the true intelligent connection of all things.
