iOS 26 found traces of iPhone 17 Air: Apple’s thinnest phone ever is here
According to Fast Technology on June 24, developers found traces of iPhone 17 Air in iOS 26 Beta2.
It is reported that a wallpaper in the iOS 26 Beta2 version has a resolution of 1260×2736. This resolution does not match the existing iPhone models, but is close to the leaked information of iPhone 17 Air.
Last year, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that Apple’s new ultra-thin model will be equipped with a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of approximately 1260×2740 pixels, which is very close to the parameters found in the beta version. Given that the iPhone 17 series comes pre-installed with iOS 26, this wallpaper is likely to be exclusive to the iPhone 17 Air.
The leak also shows that the iPhone 17 Air is the thinnest model in Apple’s history, with a thickness of about 5.5 mm. Because its design is too ultra-thin, the body cannot accommodate a physical SIM card slot and only supports eSIM.
At present, some operators have restarted eSIM services in some cities. China Unicom customer service said that it has restarted eSIM in 25 provinces and cities including Tianjin, Beijing, and Hebei; China Mobile customer service said that it will gradually open eSIM services nationwide and is currently carrying out corresponding system optimization and resource preparation.
