According to Fast Technology on May 14, the Xiaomi 17 Max has been officially announced to be released this month, and is expected to be released next Thursday, May 21.

This time, Xiaomi’s pre-launch campaign is very different from the past. After revealing the appearance yesterday, they unveiled the four core configurations of the screen, camera, battery, and performance all at once today.

One of the biggest highlights of the new phone is that it features Xiaomi’s first Leica 200-megapixel main camera, which can deliver stronger resolution and even replace traditional telephoto lenses. At the same time, the phone is also equipped with a 3X periscope telephoto lens, which can form a perfect relay.

The core is equipped with the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra, which is no surprise, matching the entire Xiaomi 17 series.

In terms of battery life, it is equipped with an 8000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, which is the largest battery in the history of the Xiaomi brand. It is also expected to support 100W wired fast charging + 50W wireless fast charging and be compatible with the 100W PPS protocol.

The front screen is also quite noteworthy, featuring a 6.9-inch SuperPixel screen, the same one used in the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

Superpixel technology differs significantly from previous OLEDs mainly in its arrangement. By arranging all RGB pixels independently, it overcomes the challenge of high ppi and low yield for the first time in the OLED field, completely eliminating the “pixel sharing” problem, and allowing each subpixel to emit light precisely.

Each pixel has its own independent red, green, and blue sub-pixels, which means that, unlike traditional OLEDs, it does not need to constantly borrow from adjacent sub-pixels.

On the surface, the screen resolution is not as high as 2K, but the number of sub-pixels reaches 9.38 million, which is on par with 2K.

It also uses a new type of domestically produced red luminescent material, with a luminous efficiency of 82.1 cd/A, which is among the world’s top, resulting in a more uniform display effect.

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing previously introduced that SuperPixel has pioneered a brand-new display technology route with its perfect performance of “2K-level display effect, but power consumption is even lower than 1.5K”.
