iPhone 16 is “disliked”! 7 reasons to wait for iPhone 17

The iPhone 16 series will be released in a few months, but foreign media recently said that there are 7 reasons for you to abandon the iPhone 16 series and choose the iPhone 17 series, because rumors suggest that the 2025 iPhone will undergo large-scale upgrades, such as brighter screens, better cameras, and longer battery life.

Standard 120Hz high refresh screen

It’s almost unbelievable that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are still rumored to be stuck in the 60Hz screen era. However, Apple is expected to adopt the 120Hz standard across its 2025 iPhones — including the base iPhone 17, which would undoubtedly be a significant upgrade for the phone, with smoother display animations and responses.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max’s three cameras all feature 48MP sensors

It is reported that the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to be equipped with a longer zoom lens and a larger 1/1.4-inch sensor, but the camera on the iPhone 17 Pro Max may be more worth waiting for. This is because all three cameras of the phone are expected to be equipped with 48MP sensors. This is an excellent upgrade for both the ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras, and their value will be greatly enhanced if combined with new image processing algorithms and pixel merging technology.

The thinnest iPhone yet

According to rumors, Apple may abandon the iPhone 17 Plus model and instead choose to add an iPhone 17 Slim to its product line. Not only will this be the thinnest iPhone to date, with a completely new design that deviates from the current design language, but it may also end up being the most expensive iPhone to date at a whopping $1,299 – which would be higher than the $1,199 Apple currently charges for its Pro Max model.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the higher cost will be supported by the A19 chip, 8GB of RAM, an aluminum body and a dual rear camera system.

A19 Pro chip with 2nm process

When it comes to processing power, the iPhone 17 will naturally have the advantage in performance – mainly because the new phone will be equipped with a faster A19 chip, while the iPhone 16 is expected to be equipped with an A18 processor.

The biggest reason for the performance improvement is that the A19 Pro chip can be manufactured using a 2nm manufacturing process. This will bring a higher transistor density and ultimately improve its processing performance.

Better power efficiency

The increase in processing performance goes hand in hand with improved energy efficiency, which also means that the iPhone 17 series will have longer battery life. If this is not enough to convince you to hold off on buying an iPhone 16, Apple is believed to be developing its own in-house battery for the iPhone 17. By doing so, Apple can further optimize the power efficiency of its iPhone 17 series.

24MP selfie camera

Some analysts say the iPhone 17 may get a nice upgrade in the form of a 24MP front-facing camera. In contrast, Apple will continue to use the same 12MP selfie camera on the iPhone 16, including the Pro models.

The Pro model comes with 12GB of RAM

The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max may also see a major overhaul to their RAM, with the possibility of an increase to 12GB. In contrast, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are likely to maintain 8GB of RAM.

Not only will this RAM upgrade allow the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max to handle AI-assisted features better, it will also allow apps to remain in memory longer — which is helpful if you frequently multitask apps.
