According to Fast Technology on February 7th, with the return of demand for large-screen business and entertainment, immersive 7-inch flagship phones are showing signs of making a comeback. Although most mainstream models on the market are currently concentrated between 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, recent news from the supply chain has undoubtedly given large-screen enthusiasts a boost of confidence.

Looking back, the last truly representative large-screen device was the vivo X Note released in 2022. Its custom 7-inch 21:10 Samsung E5 screen won over many fans with its expansive viewing area and business-like feel.

However, because these models require specially customized screen molds and redesigned internal component layouts, their research and development and production costs are much higher than those of regular-sized models, which makes 7-inch giant screen flagships a rare commodity in the market.

Current leaks indicate that two brands have begun reassessing the market potential of 7-inch large-screen smartphones. Compared to regular phones, a 7-inch screen offers superior text density when processing documents, reading ebooks, and multitasking in split-screen mode. In gaming and video playback scenarios, the impact of a small tablet is unmatched by regular phones.

Of course, the return of these “juggernauts” still faces considerable challenges. Besides the high costs of custom production lines, maintaining a reasonable weight and comfortable grip while packing in an enormous battery will be a hurdle for both manufacturers. If we see these giant-screen flagships return in 2026, it will undoubtedly provide users tired of homogenized sizes with a highly personalized option.
