Fast Technology reported that Nubia President Ni Fei announced that the new generation of the Nubia NaviX Ultra smartphone will be officially launched in September, positioned as the world’s first AI-powered flagship phone.

He stated that from the M153 in December of last year to the Nubia NaviX Ultra officially obtaining network access permission, we have reached the most crucial stage in the “last mile” of the AI smart phone’s journey from concept to mass production.

Ni Fei frankly admitted that there was no ready-made path, and every step required exploration, which was also inseparable from the support of partners. From large-scale model registration to terminal network access, we were among the first to complete the compliance process for smart phones. Ensuring user peace of mind is the prerequisite for technological innovation, and we sincerely thank relevant departments and industry partners for their support.

It is understood that the new generation of Doubao phones is fundamentally different from other “AI-enabled phones” on the market. Traditional AI phones still revolve around the operating system, with AI merely an advanced application attached to it. Doubao phones, however, are native AI phones. The large-scale intelligent model is no longer an application on par with apps, but rather a core engine embedded in the underlying operating system.

This architecture gives the Doubao phone a unique advantage. It can “understand” the phone screen, recognize buttons, and simulate click operations just like a real person. For example, a user only needs to say, “Book me the cheapest flight to Shanghai tomorrow,” and the AI can automatically open the booking app, complete a series of operations such as searching, comparing, and filling in information, and only hand over control back to the user for confirmation before payment. The entire process requires no manual intervention from the user; the AI executes it on their behalf.

In terms of privacy and security, all memory and calculations are completed locally on the mobile device, and the data is not uploaded to the cloud, effectively protecting the user’s personal information security.

The emergence of the Doubao phone marks a new stage in human-computer interaction, moving from “humans operating phones” to “AI helping you operate your phone.” The phone is no longer just a tool requiring manual operation, but has evolved into an intelligent assistant capable of proactively handling tasks for the user.
