Huawei Mate 90 series launches four models simultaneously:
The Kirin 9050 series chip based on the new Tao Law architecture has been officially unveiled. However, due to the limitations of early production capacity ramp-up, the long-awaited Mate 90 series will not be equipped with this top-of-the-line flagship chip across the entire series.
According to the latest information from the industry chain, the Mate 90 Pro version will be equipped with the new Kirin 9035 chip, while only the Pro Max and above models will exclusively enjoy the Kirin 9050 Pro flagship chip with the most advanced process specifications.
The Kirin 9035 is most likely an officially overclocked and optimized version of the Kirin 9030, which has already been commercially available.
It is understood that the overall hardware architecture and core specifications of the chip have not been changed. Only the core operating frequency has been slightly increased. The optimized power limit scheduling is very well done. After the frequency is increased, there will be no obvious heat generation or abnormal power consumption. The Mate 90 Pro version offers four storage options: 12+256GB, 12+512GB, 16+512GB, and 16+1TB. In addition to the usual black, white, and green colors, a new, highly recognizable orange color has been added to the body color options.
The top-of-the-line Mate 90 Pro Max version starts with 16+512GB of storage, with a maximum option of 16+1TB. It comes in four colors: black, white, gold, and green. A matching photography kit will also be available separately, specifically for professional photography enthusiasts.
The top-of-the-line flagship Mate 90 RS version comes in two storage configurations: 16+512GB and 16+1TB. It also offers three exclusive color options: black, white, and red, taking a high-end customized approach.
In terms of appearance design, the Mate 90 series will continue Huawei’s iconic star ring lens module design. Only the lens area of the Mate 90 RS version will adopt a more recognizable octagonal shape. The imaging configuration of the entire series seems to have been adjusted to a combination of three cameras plus a single periscope telephoto lens, which will upgrade the imaging experience across all focal lengths.
The final price of this new phone has not yet been announced, but considering the chip production capacity and the comprehensive upgrade of hardware specifications, the Mate 90 series will most likely be more expensive than its predecessor.
