Fast Technology reported that Motorola officially released its annual flagship, the Signature 27. The phone features a 6.78-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED Duo screen with a dual-layer panel, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and has a peak brightness of 12,000 nits.

Dual-layer OLED is an innovative display technology that adds another layer of light-emitting units on top of the traditional single-layer OLED light-emitting unit. Its core principle is to vertically stack two RGB light-emitting units to form a “dual-layer light-emitting” structure, thereby improving the overall display performance through the collaborative work of the two layers.

This technology not only doubles the brightness of OLED screens but also significantly extends their lifespan. By halving the electric field intensity experienced by each light-emitting layer, the aging rate of the materials is greatly slowed down, achieving a better balance between display performance and durability.

Motorola stated that the panel’s energy efficiency is up to 34% higher than that of the original Signature AMOLED, and its lifespan is up to 121% longer.

In terms of hardware configuration, the Motorola Signature 27 is equipped with Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra flagship platform (Note: hereinafter referred to as Snapdragon 8EE6), and is the industry’s first Snapdragon 8EE6 phone to use a dual-layer OLED.

The phone features a built-in 7000mAh battery, with a starting configuration of 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage option available. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone weighs 227g and is 7.99mm thick.

In terms of imaging, the Motorola Signature 27 features a rear-mounted 50MP main camera (Sony Lytia 910 sensor, supports LOFIC technology, f/1.6 aperture), a 20MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, supporting 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

In addition, the device features an aluminum frame, supports IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, supports Dolby Atmos, comes pre-installed with Android 17, and the official promise is to provide 7 major Android version updates.

This phone will be available in Europe and the Middle East on November 16, priced from 1,899 euros, which is approximately 14,200 yuan.
