OPPO Find X10 Ultra tests Dimensity 9600 Pro: codenamed Nebula
According to reports from Fast Technology on November 4th, the latest engineering sample of OPPO’s next-generation imaging flagship, the Find X10 Ultra, codenamed “Nebula,” is currently testing the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip.
If the project proceeds as planned, this will be the industry’s first flagship phone to use the Dimensity platform, which also means that there are new possibilities in the chip selection for top-tier Android imaging flagships.
The Dimensity 9600 Pro is MediaTek’s first 2nm chip, boasting over 33 billion transistors. It features two C2-Ultra processors, three C2-Pro processors with 1MB of L2 cache, and three C2-Pro processors with 512KB of L2 cache, increasing the total L2 cache system capacity by 21%. On paper, its manufacturing process and core architecture place it among the industry’s top tier.
Imaging remains the core selling point of the Find X10 Ultra. Leaks suggest it features the industry’s only native 10x periscope telephoto lens, paired with a 200MP high dynamic range multi-camera system. The screen is a 6.89-inch 2K 144Hz flat display supplied by BOE, featuring a large rounded corner and ultra-narrow four-sided equal bezel design.
It’s worth mentioning that the OPPO Find X10 Ultra Snapdragon version is also undergoing simultaneous testing. Currently, this device is still in the engineering prototype testing phase, and the chip solution has not yet been finalized. However, the move to “evaluate the Dimensity chipset for the ultra-large version” itself sends a signal: the chip selection for top-tier Android flagships is moving towards diversification from “default Snapdragon.”
The Dimensity 9600 Pro is capable of supporting the top-tier Android phones in terms of process technology, CPU architecture, and memory specifications. Moreover, multi-platform evaluation helps maintain product differentiation. While most top-tier Android phones are based on the same Snapdragon platform, the Dimensity solution can provide the Find X10 Ultra with different performance scheduling and energy efficiency, creating a differentiated selling point.
