The design information of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 mobile platform (model SM8850) has been exposed. This flagship chip has been upgraded in many key areas such as process, CPU, GPU, NPU, etc.

According to blogger Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 mobile platform will be built using TSMC’s advanced third-generation 3nm process N3p. In terms of CPU architecture, Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 still uses Qualcomm’s self-developed Oryon CPU architecture, maintaining a design layout of 2 super-large cores + 6 large cores.

In addition, the platform also supports SME1/SVE2 technology, the independent cache is increased from 12MB to 16MB, and the NPU computing power is also increased from 80TOPS to 100TOPS, which can improve the CPU efficiency when processing high-load AI and multimedia tasks, and AI performance is also greatly improved.

More importantly, this chip also supports hardware-level sunlight screen. The screen brightness of related terminals will be higher and the display will be clearer. At the same time, the native super-frame technology will be further improved. I believe that when playing games or watching videos, the picture will be smoother.

According to information, the first generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform was released in October last year. It uses TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, built-in Qualcomm Oryon CPU, including 2 super cores and 4 performance cores. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 has achieved significant upgrades in multiple indicators and can better meet users’ needs for high performance and high AI computing power.
