According to the latest report from Cailianshe on May 12, Apple is considering raising the price of its iPhone product line to be released in the fall.

It should be noted that previous reports mentioned that the price of the Chinese version of the iPhone 17 has not increased, but the overseas version will increase in price.

The starting prices of iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are 5,999 yuan, 6,999 yuan, 7,999 yuan and 9,999 yuan respectively, and it is expected that iPhone 17 will continue to maintain the same price.

However, this year’s iPhone 17 series product line has changed. iPhone 17 Air will replace Plus and form a new product series with iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17 Air features an ultra-thin design, with a thickness of about 5.5mm, making it the thinnest model in Apple’s history.

In order to make it thinner, the iPhone 17 Air has removed the physical SIM card slot and only supports eSIM. It also has only a 48-megapixel camera on the back. Its module adopts a horizontal design, resembling a strip runway, and its shape is similar to that of Google Pixel 9.

According to leaks, the starting price of iPhone 17 Air in the United States is about US$899, which is the same as the current starting price of iPhone 16 Plus, perfectly filling the gap between iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro.

Another point that must be mentioned is that last year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max started at 256GB, and this year’s small-screen iPhone 17 Pro may follow suit.

At that time, although the overall price will not change, the starting price will increase from 7999 yuan to 8999 yuan (the same price as the previous generation 256GB).
