Redmi K70 Pro Uses TCL C8 OLED Display
Xiaomi is gearing up for the introduction of its Redmi K70 series smartphones, with the Redmi K70 Pro being a significant highlight. The company has been gradually unveiling details about this new series, including the design and chipset of the Redmi K70 Pro. Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed the display and chipset specifics of the K70E model. Alongside these smartphones, Xiaomi is also set to launch the Redmi Buds 5 Pro, Redmi Watch 4, and Redmi Book 16 (2024) at the same event.
The Redmi K70E and K70 models are expected to be released internationally under the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro names. These devices have already received several certifications, including from India’s BIS, hinting at an imminent launch. Xiaomi has shared some exciting details about the K70 Pro’s display, and a tipster has revealed the camera specifications for the K70 series.
The Redmi K70 Pro is set to feature a state-of-the-art TCL C8 OLED display as leaked on weibo. This display is designed with a new generation of luminescent materials that significantly reduce blue light emissions. To enhance the viewing experience, the K70 Pro will include 3840Hz PWM dimming technology, which minimizes screen flickering.
The display also incorporates advanced technologies for improved color calibration. It boasts a 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 2K resolution and offers an exceptional peak brightness of 4000 nits, a standout feature in its segment. The standard brightness of the display is 700 nits, aligning with industry norms.
In terms of camera capabilities, the K70 Pro is confirmed to have a 50MP primary camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a telephoto sensor offering 2x optical zoom. A Chinese tipster has disclosed that the device will include a 50MP OmniVision OV50e primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP OV50d telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom.
The K70 Pro’s shutter speed has been enhanced for better photography performance. The primary sensor, with a size of 1/1.55-inch, allows for more light capture, improving image quality. The standard Redmi K70 will have a similar camera setup, except for the telephoto sensor, which will be replaced by a 2MP macro sensor.
The Redmi K70E is rumored to feature a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor instead of the 50MP OmniVision OV50e sensor. In a departure from its predecessors, Xiaomi has decided to use a metallic frame for these smartphones. The renders reveal an infrared sensor on the top of the device.
The K70 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, making it the third Xiaomi smartphone to use this flagship chipset, following the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. This move indicates Xiaomi’s commitment to providing top-tier performance in its latest smartphone offerings.
