Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a ceramic build

Earlier this year, Samsung gave us a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Edge during the Galaxy Unpacked event, where the S25 series was officially announced. However, no one was allowed to handle the device at the time. Now, we’ve got some exclusive details about its design and features, and it’s shaping up to be an exciting addition to the lineup.

A Ceramic Build That Stands Out

The Galaxy S25 Edge is taking durability up a notch. While its side frame is made of aluminum (likely Armor Aluminum), the back panel features ceramic material, which promises better durability. Whether it’s fully ceramic or a fused combination of glass and ceramic remains unclear, but it’s definitely different from the rest of the Galaxy S25 series, which use Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This choice could also help reduce the phone’s weight, making it feel lighter in hand.

There are also rumors that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be Samsung’s slimmest smartphone yet, measuring just 5.84mm thin. Samsung hasn’t confirmed this, but if true, it would be a major design feat. The phone is expected to make another public appearance at MWC 2025 in early March, although it’s still uncertain if attendees will be allowed to get hands-on with the device. A full launch is rumored for Q2 2025, likely in April.

Impressive Display and Camera Setup

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes equipped with a 6.7-inch display, matching the screen size of the Galaxy S25+. On the back, it features a dual-camera system that reportedly includes a 200MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies, the phone is said to house a 12MP front-facing camera, making it a solid choice for photography enthusiasts.

Powerful Specs Under the Hood

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options starting at 256GB. It’s also set to run Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7.0 right out of the box, ensuring a smooth and updated user experience.

The phone is fitted with a 3,900mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. While it’s not confirmed yet, it’s highly likely that wireless charging will also be included, given Samsung’s track record with flagship devices.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is shaping up to be an impressive blend of design, durability, and performance. With its rumored specs and cutting-edge build quality, it could set a new standard for slim and stylish smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach its launch!
