Samsung ISOCELL HP5 officially released: the world’s first 0.5μm 200MP camera sensor
Samsung officially released the world’s first 0.5μm 200-megapixel camera sensor – ISOCELL HP5.
The new sensor is 1/1.56 inches in size and is compatible with mobile phone telephoto/wide-angle lens modules. It is 18% smaller than similar 200-megapixel sensors.
It has an effective resolution of 16384×12288 (200 million pixels) and supports pixel merging mode (1.0μm 50 million pixels/2.0μm 12.5 million pixels). It is the world’s first commercial 0.5μm pixel sensor.
The sensor is built with a 28nm process to reduce power consumption and heat generation, adapting to the long-term shooting needs of mobile phones. It supports 8K 30fps, 4K 120fps, and FHD 480fps (without autofocus), meeting the needs of high-definition video creation.
Supports Super QPD autofocus, dual slope gain technology (DSG) + single-frame progressive HDR to improve focus accuracy and dynamic range.

To address the performance bottleneck of ultra-micro pixels, ISOCELL HP5 integrates multiple optimization technologies and uses dual vertical transfer gate (D-VTG) and front deep trench isolation (FDTI) technology to improve the pixel full-well capacity and light signal capture capabilities.
Improved DTI center-cutting (DCC) technology increases conversion gain by 150% and reduces random noise by 3%-40%, significantly optimizing imaging performance in low-light scenarios.

In terms of light utilization, the combination of high-precision microlenses, high-transmittance anti-reflection layers and oxide insulation structures reduces light reflection and signal interference, ensuring image details and color purity.
In terms of zoom capability, ISOCELL HP5 supports in-sensor cropping to achieve 2x optical quality zoom, and can achieve 6x lossless zoom when paired with a 3x optical telephoto lens, adapting to multi-focal length shooting needs.
It is reported that OPPO Find X9 Pro will be the world’s first to launch Samsung ISOCELL HP5, which will be used for periscope telephoto lenses. The phone is also the industry’s only 200-megapixel dual-periscope model.
