Samsung’s first wide foldable phone! Official demo of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is here!
Samsung’s first wide foldable phone is expected to be named Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide and will be released in July, preempting the iPhone Fold.
Recently, a leaker discovered a demo animation of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide foldable phone in an early firmware version of the One UI 9 system, confirming the design of the device.
The animation showed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide in its unfolded and folded states, consistent with previous leaks, but unfortunately, it didn’t show the inner screen.
This device is Samsung’s first wide foldable product. Its core highlight is a 7.6-inch inner screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio (close to the display effect of an iPad), paired with a 5.4-inch outer screen, completely breaking away from the traditional narrow and long shape of foldable screens, and significantly improving the experience of document reading and multitasking.
According to leaks, this device measures approximately 124mm x 161mm when unfolded, resembling a widescreen tablet, and is about 82.2mm wide when folded.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is 9.8mm thick when folded and only 4.9mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, making it the world’s lightest and widest foldable phone.

With core configurations on par with flagship models, it features a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra for Galaxy processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
It features a rear dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and supports 45W wired and 25W wireless fast charging.
