Apple will officially release the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17, the new ultra-thin design iPhone 17 Air, and two high-end flagships-iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

According to multiple leaks and the latest renderings, the iPhone 17 Pro series will usher in five key upgrades, bringing comprehensive innovations in appearance and performance.

First of all, the iPhone 17 Pro series will abandon the square camera module that has been used for many years and adopt a horizontal “runway” camera design, which is quite similar to the back layout of Google Pixel. This change is not only more concise and unified visually, but also may leave room for larger sensors, more efficient cooling systems or more compact internal structures on a practical level.

Secondly, in terms of the imaging system, the iPhone 17 Pro series will for the first time realize a rear triple-camera with all 48 million pixels, including an upgraded 48MP telephoto lens. It is reported that the lens is based on a “folded quad prism” design, which not only makes photos clearer, but also supports triple-camera 8K recording for video shooting, greatly improving the flexibility of post-editing.

Third, the front-facing selfie camera has also made a major leap forward. The new 24MP lens with six groups of plastic lenses not only improves the quality of selfies, but is also more suitable for content creators to record high-resolution videos or live broadcasts, greatly enriching the iPhone’s front-facing imaging capabilities.

Fourth, in terms of materials, the iPhone 17 Pro series will no longer continue to use titanium metal frames, but will return to more environmentally friendly aluminum alloys, and the back will adopt a hybrid design of “upper half aluminum, lower half glass”. The new camera module will also be made of aluminum, which is not only stronger, but also more visually unified, while retaining the wireless charging function.

Finally, the iPhone 17 Pro series will be the first to be equipped with the new A19 Pro chip, which is built based on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process (N3P), with further improved performance and energy efficiency. What’s more worth mentioning is that the new phone may also be equipped with a VC heat sink system to optimize the heat dissipation performance of the chip under high load.
