Qualcomm’s senior vice president Durga Malladi showed the running score of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 on the social platform.

As shown in the figure, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 Geekbench 6.4 single-core score is 3832, and the multi-core score is 12329. The multi-core score surpasses the Apple A19 Pro, making it the highest-scoring mobile chip in history. PS: The A19 Pro’s multi-core score is around 11,000 points.

It is reported that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 uses the third-generation Oryon core and is equipped with a “2+6” CPU cluster architecture, in which the two super-large cores run at a frequency of 4.6GHz and the six large cores run at a frequency of 3.62GHz.

In terms of GPU, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 integrates the Adreno 840 GPU, adopts a “sliced” architecture, and is equipped with a dedicated cache for developers to call. Qualcomm named it “Adreno High Performance Memory”, and its power consumption can be reduced by up to 10%.

Qualcomm said it has established cooperation with game developers such as Tencent, which can optimize for the platform. The Adreno 840 GPU has a maximum clock frequency of 1.20GHz, an increase from the 1.10GHz of the Adreno 830, with a 23% performance improvement and a 20% reduction in power consumption. It also supports Unreal Engine 5.
